Spring Edit: my morning skincare routine

5th April 2019

Spring is here! It’s time to start shaving whole legs again, join the gym because “summer is just around the corner”, and also time to switch your skincare rut back to “Spring Mode”.

I thought to share my skincare routine I do every morning.

Here is my current choice of products:

1 Aesop Gentle Cleansing Milk

This milk was launched only a few days ago and I haven’t cleansed my face in the morning with anything else since. It smells like a sleeping clean baby.

In the evening, when you have to take London off your face I prefer gel cleansers. In the morning, when you just refresh your face and take off the sweat, pillow grim and a few morning licks of your dog telling you he’s hungry/thirsty/have to pee, this lavender infused milk is a perfect choice.

It’s perfect for everyone with normal to dry skin and all with sensitive skin as long as you are not sensitive to lavender. Dooh. I personally don’t wear face makeup so I can’t judge it on this.

It’s just perfect for the days when you need a hug. Or your skin does.

£25 for 100ml.

2 Herbivore Rose and Hibiscus Face Mist

I have a thing for this brand. Nothing from their range disappointed me so far and this mist is not an exception. It’s hydrating enough and the bottle disperses the mist perfectly on your face – is it weird that this is important to me? Bonus points for amazing smell.

It contains Witch Hazel with astringent properties, so it’s essentially a toner. You can without second thinking use it as a hydrating mist during the day as well.

3 Hada Labo Hyaluronic Liquid

I’ve spoken about this range before and I still absolutely love it. I have both, this and their premium version. This one is more liquidy, premium on the other hand has thicker consistency. They both have 4 different molecular sizes of hyaluronic acid, so they penetrate to different layers of your skin and have an outstanding hydrating and plumping properties. I am not sure if they are already available in the UK, but you can order them from Amazon (and wait 4 weeks for them to arrive), but they are absolutely worth it. Around £14 for 180ml. They last for a loooong time.

4 REN Eye Lift

REN is my go to when I am craving the most beautifully Rose scented body products. This time this eye gel caught my eye *excuse the pun*. It’s very light, hydrating and quickly absorbing product, a great base for a concealer. I haven’t noticed any lifting properties, but I really enjoy using it as an additional hydration of my under eye area that after 36 years just doesn’t hold in moisture as well it used to.

5 Omorovicza Illuminating Moisturiser

I love this Hungarian brand – their Queen of Hungary is still my fave face mist for hot Summer days. I have to admit I was a little disappointed in this product as I expected a tad more glow. It says illuminating, right? Don’t get me wrong, it’s a nice and light moisturiser, prefect for upcoming warmer days, but I anticipated a little more radiant skin … for the price point.

6 Aesop Parsley Seed Treatment

This is an unsung hero of Aesop skincare range. A lovely light oil with an abundance of antioxidants to fight the pollution of urban living. I mix it in the moisturiser to boost the protection from free radical damage (and for a healthy glow). Absolute fave face oil for day time.

7 Aesop Sage&Zinc SPF15

I wear SPF every single day! This one has always made my top list. It’s 100% mineral sun protection but it’s (relatively) light and easy to throw in a bag for reapplication.

Among my fave SPFs also most affordable which makes it most used (£27 for 40ml) – boom.

This is my everyday face. With a dab of concealer, a stroke of eyebrow pencil and a layer of my fave mascara. What’s your secret for a glowy skin this Spring?
